Visiting Spain had been a dream since my early 20s. Taking a class in religion, the assignment was to research and speak on how various cultures illustrate Jesus Christ. My interest in El Greco grew.
Even though my smile is big, my feet were in agony, feeling every cobblestone. I was so relieved to finally be there that I ignored my foot pain for days, not thinking of buying more comfortable shoes!
Touring the El Greco Museum was a wonderful experience because many of his works are there. Although I had been longing to visit Spain, it wasn’t until the late 1990s that I specifically planned to see as many of El Greco’s paintings as possible. Later, at the Church of Santo Tome, I sat on a viewing bench before The Burial of the Count of Orgaz (approximately 15’x11’), it was magnificent!
